I'm lucky you're here 💚🍀

Welcome to March—and subsequently, another month of my newsletter ramblings! If you’re new here (or are just asking yourself “Who is this lady in my inbox, and why???”), I’m Finley, and I’m an indie romance author who writes stories that center around heart, heat, and healing. I can’t tell you exactly how you arrived on my subscriber list, but I CAN tell you that you’re welcome to leave it at any time by clicking Unsubscribe here or down below. I promise, there are absolutely no hard feelings if you decide my content isn’t for you. I can’t be everyone’s cup of tea! (And now I’m gonna take a quick break and make myself a cup of tea…)

I’m excited—only a few more days, and it’ll officially be the start of spring. My second favorite season! (Autumn will always have first place in my heart.) There’s just something about Earth coming alive after a long period of dormancy, the scent of soil and greenery, the flowers blooming, and insects resuming their daily grind. I dunno, I just really love nature (even when I refuse to be out in it. Or when wasps and hornets are involved).

Still hard at work on Feels Like Forever, except it’s no longer titled Feels Like Forever. I can’t wait to do a cover, blurb, and title reveal for y’all, because a, the cover is GORGEOUS and STUNNING and everything I hoped it would be, thanks to CPR Designs, and b, the title fits so well. I’m at roughly eighty-thousand words for the book, and each word I write makes me even more excited to get this book out into the world. I can’t wait to see y’all’s reactions to the story and the characters.

I am still looking for beta readers for it, so if you’re interested, just reply to this email or DM me on social media, and I’ll send you the link!

One last thing: I officially have a new section on my website—Freebies! This section includes all my novellas/reader magnets that you are more than welcome to download! It will be updated whenever there’s something new, and I’ll be sure to post about it on social media, so you don’t miss a thing! (If you don’t already follow me, you can find all my links here)

Okay, I think this is everything for this month. See you next time! đź–¤

Sweet Romance Reads in KU

From One Wild Night With A Hot Single Dad To Next-Door Neighbors
I meet Lincoln at a club, thinking he's just another smooth-talking Romeo.
Little did I know, he's not just a hottie but also my next-door neighbor!
As if that wasn't enough, our paths intertwined even further when I land a job at the daycare his daughter attends.
My next-door neighbor maybe a jerk, but I can't resist him.
There is undeniable chemistry between us, and I’m losing sleep over his chiseled, brutally gorgeous body.
But just when I start thinking this could be the start of something magical, bam! Plot twist number two: I find out I'm pregnant.
I must confront Lincoln with the news. But when I stumble upon him with another woman claiming to be his daughter's mother, my heart shatters.
Looks like I might be embarking on a solo parenting adventure after all.
Amidst the chaos and the baby drama, there's still that spark between us. And I'll be darned if I let a little thing like unexpected parenthood or his ex, get in the way of fighting for our love.

Lucas by Connie Lafortune

My face is splashed on every tabloid. My reputation notorious. I’m the quintessential bad-boy Rockstar whose addiction is women. I savor a new “flavor” every night, then I cut and run with no false promises to call.
But recently, one sexy little barista has snaked into my veins. I’m craving far more than the mean cup of Joe she slings. Abby ignites a fire in my soul, making me burn for her in ways I never thought possible. I’ve been warned that love and lust are a dangerous combination.
Will Abby be my latest distraction? Or the fatal overdose of a deadly attraction?

The One Who Chased the Sunrise by Ana Cedar

Jane is a painter, a free spirit in the small East coast town of Valleford. Jane fills her days with art, friends, and men. Lots of them. Malcolm is a rugged and broody biker from the desert of New Mexico who moves in next door and doesn’t fit the mold at all. Jane is immediately intrigued, but when Malcolm breaks into her house in the middle of the night and claims they are both being chased by some dangerous criminals, Jane gets a little bit more “action” than she bargained for.

Book Nemesis by Sammie Trinidad

For Serenity Brooks, fanfiction wasn't just a hobby—it was her escape, her passion, her lifeline. Until Duvall K. Howard, the man she loved, shattered her heart and stole her inspiration in one fell swoop. Now, Duvall's back, crashing into her life with a life altering secret. The news reignites not only Serenity's dormant passion for writing but also the burning embers of her anger. The past is back, and she's not forgiving.

Enter Ezra Sullivan, the witty, charming friend she lost along the way—the one man who truly understands the sting of Duvall's betrayal. He was Duvall's roommate, rival, and always second best, and now he's Serenity's partner in crime. Together, they're plotting the ultimate literary takedown, a campaign of creative vengeance that will take them through the chaotic world of conventions, awkward signings, and the constant scrutiny of overbearing parents and relentless relatives.

But as Serenity and Ezra navigate the minefield of their shared past and their complicated present, the lines between friendship, revenge, and something undeniably, irresistibly hotter begin to blur. What starts as a strategic alliance—a fake romance for revenge—evolves into something neither of them anticipated as their connection deepens. Will their quest for payback against Duvall lead them to something more with each other, or will their staged romance threaten to derail their plans and break their hearts all over again?

Sammie Trinidad

Sammie Trinidad likes to call herself the "Filipina Wonder Woman" - she even has the cosplay to prove it. Her stories include romance, both in SFF and contemporary, and fantasy. All her stories come from the heart because she has faced the unimaginable: death of her son, who died from SIDs. Grief inspired her to explore the layers of the human condition, exploring connection in all its messy, intriguing, and deeply personal forms. When not writing, Sammie can be found indulging in dark chocolate, watching Schitt’s Creek or Vampire Diaries for the zillionth time, or cuddling with her sweet dog and chunky cat, Zelda and Link.

When I manage to tear myself away from taking Buzzfeed quizzes and watching unhealthy amounts of TV, I write romance and smut. My works feature alpha males, sexy times, and/or my sarcastic sense of humor. I hail from Cleveland, aka the best freaking city in the world, and believe LeBron James is the perfect human being. Despite all of my efforts, I have never truly been able to quit caffeine. My favorites include Taylor Swift, Florence + the Machine, and SHINee. I love to hate/hate to love k-dramas. If I say I’m on a diet, I’m just lying to you and myself. One of these days, I'm going to get hypertension from an excess of salt, both literal and figurative. If I'm awkward around you, I probably don't know what to say to you and/or I think you're hot. And despite what anyone says, Forrest Gump so deserved that Oscar over Pulp Fiction.

Welcome to the month of loooooove. I remember just a few years ago, I’d have to buy enough mass-market Valentine’s Day cards for TWO classrooms, label them individually, wrangle my kids into signing their names to each card, and hope they remembered to take the cards to school to pass out during their Valentine’s party. Now, I have two teenagers (well… one teenager, one preteen), so those days are gone—at least until Duck starts school in roughly 3 years. Anyway! There’s gonna be an...

Wellllllcoooooommmmme to 2025. TWENTY. TWENTY. FIVE. When did THIS happen?? I mean, obviously, it happened two weeks ago, but I could’ve sworn it was only October just yesterday. It’s especially more mind-boggling because I officially have a 2 year old which shouldn’t be possible because he’s supposed to be a baby forever, but alas… *sigh* I suppose that’s just the way it goes. Time keeps a-tickin’ away, and we can only march along with it. My goals for this year are simple: Write, read,...
