Welcome to the month of loooooove. I remember just a few years ago, I’d have to buy enough mass-market Valentine’s Day cards for TWO classrooms, label them individually, wrangle my kids into signing their names to each card, and hope they remembered to take the cards to school to pass out during their Valentine’s party. Now, I have two teenagers (well… one teenager, one preteen), so those days are gone—at least until Duck starts school in roughly 3 years. Anyway! There’s gonna be an...

Wellllllcoooooommmmme to 2025. TWENTY. TWENTY. FIVE. When did THIS happen?? I mean, obviously, it happened two weeks ago, but I could’ve sworn it was only October just yesterday. It’s especially more mind-boggling because I officially have a 2 year old which shouldn’t be possible because he’s supposed to be a baby forever, but alas… *sigh* I suppose that’s just the way it goes. Time keeps a-tickin’ away, and we can only march along with it. My goals for this year are simple: Write, read,...

Y’all. It’s the end of the year already. My mind is boggled, my flabber is gasted. Feels like just yesterday, I was toasting to the start of 2024. Looks like I’ll be doing it again in a couple of weeks, only with 2025. What are your holiday plans? Feel free to reply to this email and let me know! ☺️ We’ll be spending Christmas Eve watching movies with hot chocolate and enjoying the peace before Santa comes. (Well, as peaceful as it can be with a toddler…) So, as you may know, Love Notes has...

Well… I’m a day late with this newsletter. Oops. I blame ADHD. Yeah, that sounds like a good reason. ;) Anyway! How can it be November already?? It’s so hard to believe that next month is December. The end of the year. Time sure has flown. I suppose we’ll just have to make the best of the last month and a half, yeah? If you’re a follower of mine on social media or you read my last newsletter, you’ll know that Love Notes will be released on November 30th, 2024. Which means there are two weeks...

I was going to talk about how much I love October, Halloween and trick-or-treating in the town square, autumn… I was. But it feels rather gauche to talk about something so trivial when there have been catastrophic weather events that have affected so many people, including people I love. I cannot imagine the enormity of experiencing these events firsthand. I truly hope that, if you’re in the impacted areas, you are safe and well. That your loved ones are safe. I do have some updates: I’ve...

Coming soon! Well, well, it’s another month. How can it be September already? Alas, I have no clue, but it is. Hopefully, it’s a quieter month than what I’ve been having! (Okay, “quiet” might not be A Thing in this household with a toddler and two kids who are BOTH in band—clarinet for Oldest, flute for Middlest. It’s fun…) So maybe I’ll just ask for “less hectic”. Can we do that, Life? We went to the aquarium a couple weeks ago to celebrate Middlest’s birthday (a week or two late, oops), but...

I can’t believe it’s already the middle of August, which means it’s my (second) favorite time of year: Back to school! I love my kids—don’t let anyone tell you otherwise—and I’ve been told hundreds of times at this point that I’ll miss these days. And I probably will. But oh. My. Gosh. They’re 11 and 13 and at each other’s throats all the time, so not being stuck in the same space constantly can only help. It’s been driving me bonkers! We’ve had a great summer, though. Better than I could’ve...
