Welcome to December!

If you’re new, welcome! So glad to have ya. I’m Finley, and I write contemporary romance with heart, heat, and healing. Welcome.

Hello to the last month of the year. It’s been a wild ride, hasn’t it? I don’t know what it’s been like for you, but I’ve had plenty of ups and downs over the last twelve months. Between a release (The Road Back Home), a potential to be in an anthology (which promptly got postponed), and plenty of back-and-forth between writing and not… I’m surprised I’ve lasted this long with my sanity intact. I hope you’ve had a more stable year!

We finally put up our Christmas tree about a week ago. AKA, the kids asked to do so, and, despite me being a “wait until the last minute” type of decorator, I agreed to haul the tree and decorations out from the box. Then they went wild putting the baubles and lights on. Duck was incredibly excited—he’s never done this before (he’s only going on 3 next month). So this was a new thing for him. I can’t wait until he sees all the gifts he’s going to get. That’ll be fun!

Writing has been going slow. I’ve been working on Two Lost Souls, the second part of the dual novella that includes Letters from Home. I know I said that a long time ago, but I ended up losing motivation for it and working on other things. I’m also dipping my toes into paranormal/fantasy (what would shapeshifters be classified as? Anyone? Bueller?) with a new book that’s taken a lot of brainpower, considering I’m building it from the ground up. That means original flora and fauna, original landscape, original world. It’s… an exercise. Really. I just hope it ends up being worth it.

If you haven’t already checked them out, I have a list of free novellas and short stories that I’m offering FOR FREE! All you gotta do is click this link and pick which one you want—or all!

once upon a winter storm

Ella Ross planned on relaxing during her holiday vacation. She didn't plan on falling in love.

Roadtrip Christmas

When his best friend loses his girlfriend and his job in one fell swoop, Owen Harding does what any good friend would do: He sets out to distract Finn from the pain and loneliness. They set off on a cross-country roadtrip with Finn’s dog Cate in tow, in hopes of showing Finn how much there is to enjoy in the world, that he shouldn’t dwell on his heartbreak.

No one ever warned Owen that dormant feelings would come to the surface, feelings that are impossible to deny.

Love Next Door

When Spencer Boone answers his door one evening, he isn't expecting to see his neighbor. He isn't expecting to be asked to watch his neighbor's kid. And he definitely isn't expecting to fall in love.

Letters from Home

When Oliver Reed's life goes up in smoke, he's stuck in limbo, blaming himself for the fatalities and struggling to move on from the disaster. He finds himself watching the world move on around him while he's standing still. But then a forced involvement in a pen-pal program and a three-legged dog offer Oliver a glimmer of hope.

Now with that all said, I do wish you and yours a very happy holidays. May they be merry, warm, and bright. See you in the new year (while I go back to bed because I'm sick)!
