Start of April? Check. My birthday? Check. Another newsletter? In progress… Well, by the time you read this, it’ll be a big fat Check.
If you’re new, welcome! So glad to have ya. I’m Finley, and I write contemporary romance with heart, heat, and healing. You’re welcome to unsubscribe at any time if you decide I’m just not the author for you, and there’ll be absolutely no hard feelings.
As I mentioned above, my birthday was at the start of the month, and I. Had. A. Blast. I opened my gifts the night before my birthday, which was fantastic because I got paints and stencils and a bookbinding kit! These were so appreciated because I’ve been teaching myself to paint edges of books (FUN!!! So relaxing, and they’re lookin’ pretty good, if I do say so myself), and I want to try my hand at bookbinding one of these days. The day after my birthday, we dropped Duck off at my in-laws’ and took the older kids to an aquarium then to an indoor playground thing. (It had trampolines and go-karts and laser tag among all the arcade games. It was fun! I got a stuffed avocado with my tickets.) Unfortunately, it started flooding in our town from torrential downpours, so getting home was treacherous, and Duck had to stay with my in-laws until the dangers passed and waters went down. NOT as much fun.
Writing update: I have a cover! And a title! And a blurb! You get to see the cover (and blurb) first. Let me know what you think of it!
The Road Back Home
Dealla Higgins has enough to juggle in life: college, her friendships, the strained relationship she has with her stepsister, and helping raise her young nephew. She has no need for anything else.
Enter one Holden Lynch.
Holden shows Dealla there's more to life than just responsibilities, and sometimes love is a responsibility all of its own.
I’m hoping to get The Road Back Home finished by June, July at the latest, so keep an eye out for an ARC opportunity!
Now for one more opportunity: I am allowing YOU to choose what I work on after The Road Back Home! Click here to vote! I can’t wait to see what I work on next!
That’s all for me this month, I think. See you in a few weeks!
